Watermouth Castle
Watermouth Castle is around a 15-minute drive from Long Moor Farm and makes a brilliant, fun-filled day out for families staying on site. It combines gardens and sea views with rides, play areas, themed attractions and its famous underground dungeons and tunnels to explore. Close enough for an easy trip during your stay, you can enjoy the excitement of the castle by day and return to the calm of Long Moor for a quieter evening.
Woolacombe - Home of 'Britains Best Beach'
Woolacombe is around an 18-minute drive from Long Moor Farm and is home to one of the most famous beaches in the UK — a vast stretch of golden sand backed by dunes and open coastline. The beach is ideal for swimming, surfing, long walks and traditional seaside days out, with plenty of space even in summer. The village itself has a relaxed surf-coast feel, with cafés, shops and places to eat overlooking the sea. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for a bigger beach day during your stay.
Lynton & Lynmouth
Around a 30-minute drive from Long Moor Farm, the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth feel like stepping into an old English coastal town. Lynmouth sits around its historic harbour with stone cottages and narrow streets, while Lynton rests high on the cliffs above, linked by the famous water-powered railway. Together they offer tearooms, small shops, harbour walks and classic Exmoor scenery.
Of course, our new on-site cafe will be a one-stop shop for all your favourites - pizzas, bagels, burgers, wraps, hot dogs etc. However, if you are looking for a more elevated dining experience locally, here are our recommendations!
The Black Venus
The Black Venus in Challacombe is around a 15-minute drive from Long Moor Farm and well worth the trip if you’re looking for a memorable meal during your stay. Set on the edge of Exmoor, this historic inn combines a cosy, characterful setting with seriously good food — generous, flavour-led dishes and seasonal specials that have made it a destination in its own right. It’s the kind of place guests often return to more than once, whether for a proper evening meal or a rewarding stop after a day exploring the moor.

Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park
Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park is just a 5-minute drive from Long Moor Farm, or accesible over the hill via footpath! Making it one of the easiest family days out during your stay. Set in a beautiful wooded valley above the village, the park combines exotic animals, landscaped gardens, and life-sized dinosaurs spread across 28 acres. It’s especially popular with families, with plenty to explore both outdoors and under cover, so it works well whatever the weather. Being so close to the campsite, you can enjoy a full visit without a long journey, then return to the peace and quiet of Long Moor for a relaxed evening.
Combe Martin Village
The seaside village of Combe Martin is just a short 5-minute drive from Long Moor Farm and offers a classic North Devon coastal day out during your stay. Its sheltered bay is known for calm waters and rocky coves, making it one of the best spots locally for kayaking and paddleboarding. Dolphin Drift, based right on the beachfront, hires boards and kayaks and gives easy access to explore the coastline, sea caves and clear waters at your own pace. After time on the water, the village has cafés, pubs and a small harbour to wander, before you head back to the quiet of the campsite for the evening.
The Sawmills Freehouse
The Sawmills Freehouse is just a short drive 10 minutes from Long Moor Farm and is a favourite with many of our guests looking for a proper local pub during their stay. Tucked into the village of Berrynarbor, it offers a traditional setting with a strong focus on good food, local produce and a relaxed atmosphere. It’s an easy option for an evening meal or a long lunch after a day exploring the coast or Exmoor, before returning to the quiet of the campsite.
The Pyne Arms
The Pyne Arms in East Down is around a 20-minute drive from Long Moor Farm and a favourite for guests looking for excellent food in a relaxed village pub setting. Known locally for its well-regarded kitchen and generous portions, it’s a great choice for a proper meal after a day on the coast or exploring Exmoor. With its welcoming atmosphere and consistently good reputation, it’s one many campers plan into their stay.
Valley of The Rocks & Cliff railway
Around a 25–30 minute drive from Long Moor Farm, the Valley of Rocks and the historic Lynton–Lynmouth Cliff Railway make a memorable Exmoor coast day out during your stay. The Valley of Rocks is a dramatic dry valley of jagged rock formations high above the sea, known for its wild goats, sweeping views and coastal walks — perfect for stretching your legs and taking in the landscape. Just nearby, the water-powered cliff railway links the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth, descending steeply between clifftop and harbour. Riding it is part transport, part experience, and gives you easy access to explore both villages

Long Moor Farm sits right on the edge of Exmoor National Park, making it an ideal base for exploring one of England’s most unspoilt landscapes. Just minutes from the campsite you can reach open moorland, wooded valleys and high coastal viewpoints, with endless options for walking, wildlife spotting and quiet scenic drives. Known for its dark skies, wild ponies and sense of space, Exmoor offers a true escape into nature.
